No knitting today

First, a big thank you to all the wonderful comments on the blogiversary, and a big congratulations to Denise, who won the shawl. It should be in the mail shortly!
So, there has been knitting, but it’s for KP, so I can’t show you. It’s slow going though. Today’s all about the food. [...]

A bulletted post

- Pictures of the cupcakes and the brownie “cupcakes” from 2 weeks ago. The brownies spell out “ABYBAY”, our very affectionate term for the baby. Cupcakes are from here, and the brownies are just my brownies, in cupcake form. I cut out letters out of a piece of cardboard, placed on top [...]

4 day weekend

Since last post, I finished catnip mice, and a sweater for the kid’s monkey (scarves made by my mom)

We proved that Santa is real (or how mom can’t really focus a camera after a couple glasses of wine):

I spent the holiday and the wonderful 4 day weekend to relax. I caught up on some [...]

Busy as a beaver

Last week, I finished Danny’s Harry Potter sweater.

I’m almost done with the one for his stuffed monkey. Finishing up that and felting the catnip mice are the last things on my Xmas to do list.
Now that the secret is out of the bag, I made this for Bezzie awhile back and gave it to [...]

Remember…

…always check the correct size you need before knitting. Do not guess the size of the garment you need. Especially do not guess and then check after you’ve finished the back and 1/2 of the front of the sweater. Because chances are, you will realize that you’ve knit the garment a size [...]

Halloween & Weekend recap

Halloween was a blast. I dressed as a witch at work, wearing these under a long black skirt:

When I got home, I changed into my costume from last year, minus the wig, and sat on the porch knitting and handing out candy. Apparently, our town has a curfew, and all kids under 18 [...]

Of knitting, pumpkins and cupcakes

Rhinebeck weekend I started a pair of socks for the kid, who picked out his own sock yarn on WWKIP day. Dream in Color Smooshy in Cocoa Kisses. I finished them today.

I made the socks a smidge too big for him, because the way his feet are growing, he’d have outgrown them before [...]

Pork is a fruit*

So. Rhinebeck was this past weekend. I left the house with a bag of clothes and some cupcakes. I came back with a bag of clothes and lots of goodies.
The Minimalist Cardi did not make it to Rhinebeck. I had it all blocked by Wed. last week, but sleep [...]

The countdown – 4 days

There are going to be several late nights this week. I’m finishing up the secret project to ship off to Knit Picks before the end of the week (btw, thanks for all the lovely words. Just to make it clear tho, I just test knit the laptop cover. It is not my [...]

Weekend wrap up

The weekend was fun filled. Friday, the little man turned eight. Eight. I can’t believe time has flown so quickly. We had his birthday party at the house, turning our dining room into a movie theater.

There were cupcakes of course.

There was knitting while 14 boys watched the movie:

That’s secret knitting, that’s [...]
