Post Mother’s Day post
My boys and I went to play mini-golf in the beautiful weather yesterday. Afterwards (hubby won, but I got a hole in one!), we took a drive, and ended up here with lunch at a tiki bar listening to live music before hitting the roller coaster. Perfect mother’s day. When we headed [...]

4 day weekend
Since last post, I finished catnip mice, and a sweater for the kid’s monkey (scarves made by my mom)
We proved that Santa is real (or how mom can’t really focus a camera after a couple glasses of wine):
I spent the holiday and the wonderful 4 day weekend to relax. I caught up on some [...]

Slow week
The knitting slowed to a crawl last week. Hopefully it will pick back up this week, as I’m nearing the end of a bunch of projects, Xmas knitting included. I’m itching to cast on something for me, even if it’s just a quick, measly cowl.
We got our tree all decorated:
With 2 new ornaments [...]

A pick me up post
I’m down in the dumps. I feel blah. Maybe because the 4 day weekend is coming to a close and the next time I’m off of work is a month away. I don’t quite feel like knitting, even though I have many a project to do. Hopefully laying out what I’ve [...]

Knitting, spinning, sewing, baking, oh my
I’ve been a busy gal.
Knitting:
Fingerless mitts (Rav link) in Pigeonroof Studios yarn. Took just a few days, but if you had nothing else to do one lazy weekend, you could definitely do a pair in one day.
I finished up MS4, but it’s weird looking. I need suggestions here. The yarn [...]

Spindle spinning
Pro: You can pick up the spindle and spin for 5 minutes without checking the tension, oiling something, fussing with something.
Con: It takes a lot longer to spin up a couple ozs of fiber than on the wheel.
Pro: The spindle is extremely portable; you could fit it in your purse if you wanted to.
Con: You’d [...]

Pork is a fruit*
So. Rhinebeck was this past weekend. I left the house with a bag of clothes and some cupcakes. I came back with a bag of clothes and lots of goodies.
The Minimalist Cardi did not make it to Rhinebeck. I had it all blocked by Wed. last week, but sleep [...]

A little bit of this, a little bit of that
Tamara and Bezzie came over on Saturday with the kids. The kids loved running up and down the stairs, having 3 floors to play on. I’m glad they all had fun. I had fun too….both Tamara and Bezzie brought their wheels and we spun for a couple of hours. When they [...]

Suuuuuppppperbowl Sunday
Ok, I will admit I’m not a football fan. Or a baseball fan. Really, I’m not a sports fan. But I do like to go to parties. And we’re off to a superbowl party today. I’m still deciding what to bring with me other than the big crock pot full [...]

A whole mess of crafty
First, there’s been knitting. A finished Juno Regina:
Stats:
Pattern: Juno Regina, Knitty Fall 2007
Yarn: Malabrigo Lace, approx. 1 1/2 skeins
Needles: Size 4 KP Harmony Options
I made no changes, but my finished size is 3″ smaller width wise, and about 5″ longer.
Next, there was spinning. When I went up to Rhinebeck, I brought Lulu with [...]
