Spinny, spin, spin

Lulu has been getting a serious workout. I’ve been working on hand dyed BFL, and it’s finally done and plied. I’m quite proud of this particular handspun. It’s a balanced yarn! Yay!

4 oz BFL, approximately 340 yards and approximately 21 WPI.
Also started is a batt that I got from my wonderful [...]

New toy!

When we went to the NJ Sheep and Wool Festival, I bought something. I didn’t post about it, because I didn’t come home with this purchase. But it came in the mail today, and I’m pretty psyched about it.
At one of the booths at the festival was a lady named Laun Dunn and [...]

Lesson learned

Lesson learned yesterday: After 2 weeks of not working on the dragon shawl, I picked it up again yesterday. Did 2 rows on the train and at the end of the second row, realized I was missing stitches. Went to the Point after work, and ripped out the 2 rows, plus another 3 [...]

TV junkie

This coming week starts my favorite time of the year….the start of the fall tv season. I admit, I am a tv junkie. I watch way too much of it, and most of it is bad tv. And since we got a dvr, we watch a lot more BAD tv. But [...]

Scream!

Not knitting related in any way shape or form.
A friend called me and told me her husband bought her tickets to see Bon Jovi and she’s taking me with her. We’re on the floor, row EIGHT, and we get to go up on stage. Rhinebeck then Bon Jovi. October is going to [...]

Mail call!

My friend Sarah was closing out her etsy store. I told her that if no one purchased particular items, I would take them. And I did. They are colorways I had before, but I loved them.

Also in the mail the other day, was my new Knit Picks needles. I already [...]

Last minute outing

Late Friday evening, a last minute outing was planned to trek to NJ to the NJ Sheep & Wool festival. The ride wasn’t as long as I thought it’d be, but still long enough. There were a lot more animals than vendors, but still fun to poke around a festival other than Rhinebeck [...]

Paint by numbers

Remember those paint by numbers kits you used to have as a kid? I loved those things. I’m by no means an artist, and having the paint by numbers kits made me feel like I could paint.
The dragone shawl charts are similar to painting by numbers. There are about 18 different stitches, [...]

Startitis

I was doing so well. My WIP list on Ravelry was down to one. One lonely project. So I started another. And another. And another. Now I’m back up to 4. Or maybe higher and I’m just not telling. I have serious startitis and the weather being [...]

What I did on my summer vacation

Remember having to write those essays the first week of school? Well, school starts tomorrow, and since I just came back from a few days of vacationing in lovely Ohio, it fits nicely.
First, I finished up the Gift of Friendship scarf that took forever to knit, because I like long scarves and I was [...]
