A pick me up post

I’m down in the dumps. I feel blah. Maybe because the 4 day weekend is coming to a close and the next time I’m off of work is a month away. I don’t quite feel like knitting, even though I have many a project to do. Hopefully laying out what I’ve [...]

Knitting, spinning, sewing, baking, oh my

I’ve been a busy gal.
Knitting:
Fingerless mitts (Rav link) in Pigeonroof Studios yarn. Took just a few days, but if you had nothing else to do one lazy weekend, you could definitely do a pair in one day.

I finished up MS4, but it’s weird looking. I need suggestions here. The yarn [...]

Remember…

I came home Monday to find a box from the Loopy Ewe in my mailbox. Funny. I hadn’t ordered anything. Inside?

A hank of Trekking Hand Art in Atlantik. Someone must know me real well. Unfortunately, it didn’t come with a note with who it was from. But with a [...]

Birthday weekend

My actual birthday, Friday, was good. But it was your average Friday. The gals that came over on Saturday (thanks for making that trek…I totally appreciate it!!), totally helped make my birthday a good one. We had a lot of fun, a lot of laughs and did some knitting. I made [...]

Spindle spinning

Pro: You can pick up the spindle and spin for 5 minutes without checking the tension, oiling something, fussing with something.
Con: It takes a lot longer to spin up a couple ozs of fiber than on the wheel.
Pro: The spindle is extremely portable; you could fit it in your purse if you wanted to.
Con: You’d [...]

Vote!

Not for president…that was yesterday. Today’s vote is for cupcakes. I’m baking Friday for some knitting peeps. I’ve got the chocolate portion covered, but I need something not chocolate. Should that choice be carrot cupcakes or pumpkin cupcakes? Leave your vote in the comments, because I’m too lazy to figure [...]

Halloween & Weekend recap

Halloween was a blast. I dressed as a witch at work, wearing these under a long black skirt:

When I got home, I changed into my costume from last year, minus the wig, and sat on the porch knitting and handing out candy. Apparently, our town has a curfew, and all kids under 18 [...]
