Happy New Year!
I am home after 2 weeks of vacationing. We drove from NJ to FL (Boca Raton) with a small stop in VA, due to a snow storm that made the roads undrivable. We spent some time visiting with my mother in law, and then headed to Miami on Christmas Eve to board my first ever cruise. The cruise was fantastic, hitting Key West and Cozumel. After the cruise, we came back to Boca and celebrated New Year’s. After 23 hours of driving, we are finally home. I have tons of pictures to upload, and will share them at a later time.
I wanted to start the new year off right and blog. I have been very lax in blogging lately, and I hope to get back to it, because I do enjoy it. So, to start the year off right, I present to you pictures of my last test knit for Knit Picks. It was a doozy of a project, requiring 4 weeks of my undivided attention. Seriously undivided. I felt like I neglected housework (ok, I do this from time to time anyways…), my husband, my kid. I worked, ate and knit on this project. Sleep? I did very little of this during the time I spent with this project. The family, while not quite understanding, was very patient with me.

The sweater was 1/2 finished about 2 weeks into the knitting. That’s when I got the email saying that the kit did not contain enough yarn to finish it the way the pattern was originally written. Here is where I was when I got that email. Can you spot the difference between this picture and the finished project?

Til next time, when I will have projects finished during my vacation……2 pairs of socks and a shawlette.

Uh… curses! If it hadn’t been a test knit, I would have said leave it as is, it’s fine. Test knit… I know, you have to follow the pattern. So sorry about the ripping experience. All that work.

The sweater is gorgeous! I can’t imagine finishing it in a year. let alone 4 weeks, especially since you had to rip back!
Wishing you a very healthy, happy, peaceful, and prosperous New Year!!!
